A stunning mid-century dark oak stacking barrister bookcase with sliding glass doors made in the 1940s. This bookcase is part of the Criterion range and was made by Phoenix Gallery London. The bookcase would look great in a kitchen dinner, living room or study and could also be used as a cocktail cabinet.
It is made of solid oak which has been stained dark and finished with French polish. It has four sections which each have sliding double glass doors and all work well. There is lovely circular etched handles on the glass doors (this is the exception of one single door which has been replaced at sometime). The bookcase has been restored by us in our workshop and is in excellent vintage condition.
Height: 130.0 cm Width: 91.0 cm Depth: 26.5 cm & 23.5 cm (internal shelf heights 30.0 cm and 24.0 cm)
As this is vintage there are signs of 'wear & tear', we try to show any blemishes in our photos. We restore all pieces ourselves and feel blemishes do not detract from the beauty of the piece and shows its history.
