This is a beautiful 20th Century Spanish Baroque style trestle/refectory table on lyre-shaped legs. These tables were originally used in religious monasteries for monks to dine around. They now make gorgeous desks in studies or consoles tables for a hallway and look particularly good mixed with other vintage pieces for that rustic modern look in a home. This example has a great ebonised patina and carving to the top.
The table is made of chestnut wood which has curved lyre legs and a carved decorative top. It has cast iron blackened braces / brackets with curved ends. The table is in good vintage condition and has some marks and defect on the top (please see photos) which we have left has feel it adds to the history and patina of the piece. If you would like the table fully restored then this can be done at an addition fee (please contact us for a quote).
As this is vintage there are signs of 'wear & tear', we try to show any blemishes in our photos. We restore all pieces ourselves and feel blemishes do not detract from the beauty of the piece and shows its history.
