These folding scissor Savonarola chairs boast an ebonised finish, and are graced with a leather seat and backrest. Intricate wood medallions are set at the crossing of the legs, and large, darkened metal tacks line the sides of the seat and back. These remarkable and one-of-a-kind pieces of the Italian Renaissance will invigorate any room. Crafted in the 20th century, likely during the 1920s, they are, remarkably, in excellent condition. Originally designed for portable and designed for outdoor uses, the Savonarola Chair folds into an X-frame and is named after the famed Italian Renaissance Dominican friar, Girolamo Savonarola. Perfect for hallway or entryway seating, these chairs being sold as a pair and are guaranteed to impress.
